Hello, I'm Lorenzo

I’m a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Rome, Italy.

A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually grew into a new chapter of life overseas.

How It Began

Relocating to Italy wasn't in our long-range plan. Like many moves abroad, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.

The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should be.

The Adaptation Phase

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.

Why I Created Drift Nectar Paper

Most information online was either corporate relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.

This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Italy.

What This Site Does (And Does Not)

This site OFFERS:

  • Practical insights from living in Italy
  • Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
  • Updated whenever a real change occurs

This site DOES NOT:

  • A resource from a tourism authority
  • A platform for sponsored reviews
  • Just a generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our stay in Italy continues, along with the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.

If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Best regards,

Lorenzo
